September marks a special milestone for us: two full years of endless battles across the galaxy. We’ve come a long way since launch, and to celebrate our second anniversary, we’re marking the occasion with the release of Patch 15 this October 1st!
But this month isn’t just about looking back, we’re also pulling back the curtain on our strategic battle plan for Year 3, so get ready! ⚔️
Here’s the Year 3 Roadmap that you’ve been waiting for!
For the remainder of 2026, we still have Patch 15 and Patch 16 to look forward to bringing:
The long-awaited Chaos Siege mode, allowing you to play Heretic Astartes previously exclusive to PvP.
A brand-new PvP mode featuring Weekly Stratagems, just like in PvE.
A host of gameplay additions.
And there’s plenty more exciting stuff to come in 2027, including:
A highly anticipated new class that a lot of you have theorized about is coming early 2027.
New Operations and weapons.
Reworks to several gameplay features, with improvements coming to some of the game’s core systems.
Additionally, there are a couple of other cool features that are planned, but not listed in the roadmap.
We’ve noticed that you like riddles, so here are two new ones about customisation features we’re preparing:
something that will expand customization options by 33%
and something that will put our streaming tech to a test.
As for the DLC content, Year 3 will bring five new Cosmetic and Champion Packs, with the final one remaining redacted for now… But trust us, there’s something pretty cool hiding behind that blank space! 😉
We’ve been following all your speculations ever since we teased the arrival of a new class, and you certainly had plenty of theories… and the majority of you were right! 😉 Today, we’re finally revealing the truth: the Apothecary is joining the ranks with Patch 17 in the first quarter of 2027! We’ll disclose more info later, so stay tuned!
Additionally, as we said in the previous Community Update, the Apothecary will receive a Champion skin in the same way the Techmarine did: in the update after its release.
Experience the battlefield from a new perspective!
Chaos Siege Mode lets you play as Heretic Astartes warring for the control of Avarax. Cull the Tyranid swarm, and face Imperial forces and Space Marines that will try to prevent you from conquering the hive city.
Currently, there are 2 sectors, but we’re already working on a 3rd.
Here's a short video showcasing a battle against the Imperial forces:
Challenge yourself with the new Crucible mode to earn Crucible XP and unlock the Lamenters armour set. Talk to the Chapter Chaplain in the Battle Barge to pick your Penances. Penances are personal debuffs that are designed to offer a tougher challenge to end game players.
Each class has its own set of Penances, and its own progression: for example, playing in Crucible mode with the Tactical will only grant Crucible XP to the Tactical Class, and will ultimately unlock the Lamenters armour set for the Tactical class.
Similarly, the Penances Set is tied to the Class you’re playing: for instance, the Tactical can pick Penances that will reduce the effectiveness of the Auspex Scan.
Penances Sets are separated in 6 tiers, each offering an increasingly harder challenge.
Finally, you can pick as many Penances as you want, though a minimum amount is required to start playing. This minimum threshold escalates with higher tiers: for example, Tier 1 demands selecting a minimum of 2 Penances, while Tier 3 requires a minimum of 6.
The One-Handed Thunder Hammer will be added in this update. Available to the Tactical, Assault, Bulwark and Techmarine classes, it’s a fast weapon that can be charged to deliver powerful AoE blows.
3 heroic weapons will be added with patch 15:
Power Axe (Frost Axe - Balance): Killing enemies with Executions generates Power Charges that empower your next Whirl Slash. Damage and radius are increased, and enemies hit are slowed.
One-Handed Thunder Hammer (Power Maul - Balance): Holding the attack button performs a powerful Ground Slam that consumes all charges, damage increases by the amount of charges spent.
Auto Bolt Rifle (Iron Hands): The rate of fire is increased, but gradually decreases during shooting.
New armour pieces will also be added:
Black Templar double shoulder pad
Mark VI Corvus
Iron Halo
Raven Guard Unhelmed
White Scars Unhelmed
The Tactical class is getting a rework in this update. Basically, we’re changing most of his Skill Tree to offer more diverse and interesting build options. As we revealed in the last Community Update, we’re expanding his melee arsenal with the Power Axe, the One-Handed Thunder Hammer and the Power Sword. Equipping any of these 3 weapons will automatically remove his Primary Weapon.
Additionally, a new Signature Perk will replace the current Signal Jammer to allow the Tactical to use a Bolt Rifle as secondary Weapon. This Bolt Rifle will share the weapon progression (Versions and Perk Tree) with the classic, Primary version of the Bolt Rifle.
The complete perk change list will be available in the Patch Notes 15.0, when the update releases.
This update brings a third slot for Wargear and the ability to equip capes, tabards and iron halos. We’re adding new Ordeals to unlock new items too:
6 Tabards to the Vanguard and Heavy classes
2 Tabards to the Assault class
4 Robes to the Vanguard and Heavy classes
Patch 15 brings two new cosmetic sets to the table:
🐺 Space Wolves Champion Pack
The Space Wolves will receive their second pack with a Champion assigned to the Bulwark class, and a One-Handed Thunder Hammer skin comes with it!
💀 Exorcists Cosmetic Pack
The Exorcists Cosmetic Pack includes 1 Helmet, 2 Left & Right Pauldrons, 2 Left & Right Gauntlets and 1 Breastplate. The armour pieces are automatically unlocked and added to your armour sets once you purchase the pack.
Two years of battles have passed, and your dedication has been incredible. You’ve successfully held the line against Chaos across the galaxy!! 🙏
We’ve crunched the data, and the scale of your achievements is staggering. Here is a glimpse of what you have accomplished during the Year 2:
